Mission Statement
To raise the awareness of the religious diversity in the Sarasota area, and to encourage people to learn about faiths and traditions other than their own, in a worship service that embraces all faiths and promotes Peace.
To bring together people of diverse religious faiths and traditions, who share a common interest in learning and growing together, in a spirit of fellowship, for the purpose of learning about, and listening to, the word of God as written in the sacred scriptures and traditions of the world.
To present the prayers, meditaions, sacred scriptures, and music of the world in a beautiful and uplifting interfaith worship service.
Through this interfaith service of prayers, meditations and music, the participants will gain a better understanding of, repect for, and appreciation of, religions other than their own.
The Ocean Interfaith Service for Peace will become a demonstration of the many commonalities of religious faiths and traditions, and thereby, will be teaching peace.
To follow up each interfaith service with fellowship and refreshments so that people of diverse backgrounds will have an opportunity to meet and develop relationships with each other and learn about each other's culture and traditions, in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
