Ocean Interfaith Community of Sarasota is an
independent, non affiliated, non profit community association.
Ocean has partnered with both The Center for Religious Tolerance, an international organization that promotes peace, founded by Andrea Blanch, and, with Unity Church of Sarasota, Rev. Elizabeth Thompson, Senior Pastor, who has enthusiasticly embraced the call of the interfaith movement and invited us to hold our devotional gatherings at Unity Church.
We have also had the warm encouragement and assistance of the Sarasota Baha'i Community, especially Christine Moyer and Diane Stinnett.
Susan Slack has offered her glorious singing and playing of sacred music in a wide variety of languages.
Shirley Bascom, President of the Venice Interfaith Community Association has been a "sister" in the cause of interfaith relations and has helped us with introductions.
Chuck Barber, artist, computer expert, and devoted student of world religions, has offered insight and done everything necessary to pull it all together.
Dr. Deri Joy Ronis wrote the book, Bridging the Gap to Peace, which is a wealth of information on interfaith relations and peace, and, we are fortunate to have her working with us on this project. Thank you all for your many hands!
